Sound Healing with Tuning Forks & Craniosacral Therapy

Sound healing, vibrational medicine, and music therapy all have one thing in common: sound. Dr. Kaminsky uses specially made tuning forks at specific frequencies to add synergy to your craniosacral therapy sessions.

What it is

Health and wellness through sound

Health and wellness through sound is not a new healing modality — sound healing has been around since the beginning of time. One method used to support health is via specially made tuning forks. Each tuning fork has a certain frequency it resonates with and, as a result, can have a profound effect on the body and the mind-body connection.

Dr. Kaminsky uses Biosonics-quality instruments to tune your body. The spectrum of frequencies used in your care ranges from 32 Hz to 512 Hz. They are used specifically to work with the musculoskeletal system — namely trigger points and to achieve a myofascial release. There is a calming effect and a rebalancing of the central nervous system, mainly within the sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous system, largely by way of the vagus nerve.

Sound and the vagus nerve

The Polyvagal Theory put forth by Stephen Porges describes the body's ability to self-regulate, with the vagus nerve serving as a conduit for that regulation. Dr. Kaminsky uses sound vibration of a specific frequency to help fine-tune the vagus nerve — a therapeutic process often called vagal toning, as taught by sound-healing teacher John Beaulieu, PhD.

Dr. Kaminsky has been apprenticing with John since 2018 and has studied the protocols for healing with sound vibration via tuning forks, which adds valuable synergy to in-office craniosacral therapy sessions.

Sound healing is offered as a gentle, complementary technique alongside craniosacral therapy. It is not a substitute for medical diagnosis or treatment, and individual results vary.
